Test Separator, 1st Stage 3 Phase and 2nd Stage 3 Phase Separator (Yemen) Dove Energy Ltd. November, 2008 May, 2009 Completed Project Scope : HAWK INTERNATIONAL had completed the complete Design, Fabrication, Supply and Installation of 2 x 45,000 BBPD Stage Separators and 1 x 15,0000 BBPD Test Separator for Dove Energy Limited Block 53 Yemen.

These are skid mounted separators complete with piping, instrumentation and controls manufactured in accordance to ASME Section VIIII Division 1 code and is certified by Bureau Veritas.

The Stage Separators are 6 ft. in diameter x 20 ft. tangent length manufactured from 16.0 mm thick ASTM A 516 Grade 70 carbon steel plate. The Test Separator is 4 ft. in diameter x 15 ft. tangent length with a shell thickness of 12.0 mm thick from ASTM A 516 Grade 70 carbon steel plate.

All the separators are having removable internals made of 316L Stainless Steel. They are designed to operate at 275 psig (Maximum Allowable Working Pressure) for the separation process of Oil, Water, and Gas.

The entire separator materials from shell, piping, valves and instrumentation comply to NACE MR 0175 requirement intended for sour service.
YLNG Upstream Facilities - Phase I Construction Work (Yemen) Safer Exploration & Production Operations Co. (SEPOC) August, 2008 February, 2010 Completed Phase I scope of work included the installation of three (3) pressure letdown stations downstream of KPU 1 and KPU 2 gas injection compressors and downstream CPU 1 gas injection compressors, to reduce the pressure from 241 barg to pipeline export pressure. The three letdown stations are similar and basically include a pressure control valve and ESDV's.

Each pressure letdown station outlet was connected to a manifold collecting the residue gas from the pressure letdown stations.

The manifold at CPU was connected to a 30" Transfer line, installed by the PIPELINE CONTRACTOR. The Transfer Line is used to send the residue gas collected in the CPU manifold to the KPU manifold.

The manifold at CPU has a downstream connection to a gas metering station installed by the PIPELINE CONTRACTOR, connected to the 38" Main Line for exporting gas to LNG Plant at Balhaf.

Installing of the manifold at KPU and of the manifold at CPU, and connection of these manifolds to the 30" transfer line and to the metering station were part of the work.

The work for Phase I included pre-fabrication work, installation, tie-ins to existing facilities, pre-commissioning, assistance to company during commissioning and start-up of the pressure let down stations and of the manifolds.
Kharir Export Pipeline Debottlenecking (Yemen) TOTAL E&P Yemen May, 2008 March, 2009 Completed Project Scope : Provision of labour, non supplied materials, equipment, transportation and supervision for the construction and installation of 46 Km - 12" pipeline.

Work included ROW involving blasting and hill cuts, fabrication of miscellaneous expansion loops and pig traps, NDT operations and hot top works using special tools including hot top machine.
Sana'a Main Intersections - Package II - Group I (Yemen) Sana'a Municipality Technical Affairs (SMTA) February, 2008 September, 2009 Completed Project Scope : Construction of Fly-Over and Underpass

The scope of works consisted of Construction of the following :

a) Intersection No. 2 : Maliyyah Intersection (516m) (Police Academy St. and Ring Road) with a post tensioning prestressed flyover on Police Academy Street.

b) Intersection No. 4 : Kentucky Intersection (664m) (Zubairy St. and Ring Road) with underpass on Zubairy Street.

The project included mainly civil works in addition to the other, related to the infrastructure which exists in intersections and needed to be taken care during the construction period and also to be improved.

The description of the main items of works are the following :
  • Site works - Demolition / installation of brick stone wall and steel fences, reinforced concrete, sidewalk tiles, kerb stones.
  • Earth Works - Excavation, backfilling, compaction.

Kharir CPU Flare System Upgrade (Yemen) TOTAL E&P Yemen September, 2007 September, 2008 Completed Project Scope : Civil Construction, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural Steel.

The scope of work for this project was to replace the existing degassing boot as well as the HP and LP Flare Systems (Flare Headers, KO Drums and Flare Stacks).

The detailed scope of work was broken down into Work Packages and Work Units described below :

Work Package 1 - Engineering

HAWK INTERNATIONAL shall therefore develop the DESIGN DOSSIER and shall carry out all complementary engineering necessary for the detailed definition, including optimisation, fabrication, installation, hook-up and pre-commissioning of the Plant, and for procurement of equipment and bulk material required for the performance of the Work.

Work Package 4 - Mob/Demob of Construction Equipment

Mobilize the necessary equipment for surveys, site preparation, installation & erection and pre-commissioning.

Work Package 5 - Installation & Hook Up including Tie-In

Carry out all activities and works related to the installation and hook up including tie-ins at CPU facilities requiring production shut down.

Work Package 6 - Installation & Hook Up without Production Shutdown (SIMOPS)

Carry out all activities and works related to the site preparation, civil & structural, piping erection and hook up, electrical and instrumentation, modifications at CPU facilities without production shut down and requiring SIMOPS procedure to be applied.

Work Package 7 - Assistance for Commissioning

Provide assistance to COMPANY for commissioning of the PLANT or part thereof to the extent required by COMPANY.

Work Package 8 - Safety Actions Implementation

This Work Package covered all the activities with respect to Safety. It was divided into two (2) Work Units namely, compulsory safety actions and safety improvement programs.

Hawk was responsible for coordinating and managing all interfaces associated with the work.

Total - Kharir Permanent Gas Compression Project (Yemen) TOTAL E&P Yemen November, 2006 September, 2008 Completed Project Scope : Construction and Bulk Procurement.

The WORK consisted of the bulk PROCUREMENT, the CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION and the assistance to COMPANY for the commissioning operations, said activities including Project Control System in order to coordinate and continuously ensure quality, costs and time schedule, all as more fully detailed and complemented in the CONTRACT documents.

The activities cover :

Central Compression Unit
  • Installation of new compression facilities including 3x3 stages reciprocating compressors driven by Gas Engine with associated scrubber and inter-stages air coolers.
  • Installation of two (2) fuel gas units.
  • Installation of two phase separators, separating the multi-phase flow coming from well trunk lines.

Existing Production Wellhead Pad Wells (12 wells)

  • Dismantling of existing LP online going to Kharir.
  • Dismantling of existing wells flowlines and existing EPF separators located on each well pad.
  • Installation of HP piping, manifold, associated instrumentation including multi-phase flow meter and tie in points for chemical injection.
  • Installation of temporary pig launcher facilities, some wells depending on the multi phase flow gathering network scheme will be equipped with pig receiving facilities.

YEMEN LNG Balhaf Plant - CM1 (Yemen) Yemgas (Technip - France) June, 2006 June, 2009 Completed Project Scope : Construction of Company Camp Buildings.

YEMGAS issued the notice of award to HAWK INTERNATIONAL on 05 May 2006.

The general scope of work of this Subcontract included all design, supply of materials and field installation of Company Camp buildings based on modular or prefabricated design to include all civil, architectural, plumbing, electrical telecommunication, air conditioning, fire fighting and all other works required to install all required buildings as well as their associated furniture.

This Company camp consists of conventionally built, permanent 40 buildings.

YEMEN LNG Balhaf Plant - CW1 & CW2 (Yemen) Yemgas (Technip - France) May, 2006 April, 2010 Completed Project Scope : Civil Works Construction.

The Construction Subcontract Agreement between HAWK INTERNATIONAL and Yemgas took effect 23rd June 2006.

The scope of work consisted in the execution of all civil works including supply required for the execution of the works for the Process Area of Train 1, Train 2 and South Off-Trains and other areas of the plant such as:
  • Site preparation.
  • Tank foundations and earth dikes.
  • Earth basins.
  • Access roads, plant roads and yards.
  • Site finishing works.
  • Sewer systems (trenches, installation, backfill).
  • Underground pressure piping system.
  • Civil works related to underground electrical and instrument installations (instrument & electrical duct bunks).

YEMEN LNG EPC Pipeline (Yemen) Yemen LNG Company Ltd. September, 2005 June, 2009 Completed Project Scope : Engineering, Procurement, Supply, Construction and Commissioning of the Pipeline and Facilities.

The contract for this project was signed on the first day of September 2005 by Yemen LNG Company Ltd. and AMEC SPIE Capag - HAWK INTERNATIONAL Joint Venture.

Scope of Work Summary :

The overall scope of work of the Contract included all detailed design engineering, fabrication, supply, transportation, construction, testing, commissioning and start-up activities required to achieve the successful completion of the work, related to the Mainline, Transfer Line pipelines and the associated service / access tracks for the Yemen LNG project.

The Work consisted of a nominal ID 930.4mm Main Line from the KPU to the LNG plant at Bal Haf, approximately 320 km; a 30" (or optionally 20") Transfer Line which shall run from the KPU to the CPU approximately 25km; the intermediate block valve stations; scraper launching and receiving facilities; metering stations; electrical / thermal electric generators (TEG); instruments (SCADA system); telecommunication network / fibre optic cable; all civil work including restoration work and service track which shall run the full length of the pipelines.

In particular, AMEC SPIE Capag - HAWK INTERNATIONAL Joint Venture had :
  • Provided Project Management, Project Control, Administration/Accounting and reporting to Company.
  • Prepared all documentation, drawings, reports, schedules and notices.
  • Managed, coordinate and supervise interfaces with other Parties involved in the work.
  • Obtained and maintain all permits, authorizations and licenses.
  • Provided all required insurances.
  • Prepared and submit Quality Assurance documents for Company’s approval.
  • Engineered the work, including any basic engineering, complementary site surveys, detailed engineering, procurement engineering, construction engineering and commissioning preparation.

In August 2005, Yepcos - France awarded the Yemen LNG Balhaf plant Site Preparation contract to HAWK INTERNATIONAL Finance & Construction Co. Ltd.

Summary of the Scope of Work:

The scope of work in accordance with the contract included:
  • Site Preparation of the Plant Area defined by the Battery Limits.
  • Site Preparation of the Construction Area and Camp Area.
  • Construction of shore protection protecting the plant area.
  • Construction of MOF, Access Bridge And Breakwater.
  • Offshore cutting for the sea water pipes (intake and outfall), sea water intake basin, sea water outfall pool.
  • Preparation of access roads.
  • Construction of Pioneer Camp to accommodate personnel of the Contractor and Company Personnel.
  • Catering of the above camp up to the completion of contract.
  • Base Preparation Of LNG Tank The pad.
  • Airstrip Facility And Terminal Building.
  • External Perimeter / Security Fences.

The scope of work also included:

  • A permanent air strip with basic terminal facilities.
  • An early Marine Offloading Facility - MOF.
  • The permanent external security fencing at the outer perimeter of the site of the facility.

HAWK INTERNATIONAL was responsible for the operation and maintenance of these facilities, security of the Plant Area and the Site within the permanent external security fencing and shall provide all engineering and procurement activities, labour, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and whatever facilities are necessary to perform all works.

Road Repair - Arta - Dikhil Ministry of Transport (Djibouti) March, 2004 December, 2004 Completed Rehabilitation works for Djibouti Corridor Road from Arta to Dikhil includes construction of irish crossings and box culverts and other drainage and protection works for a length of approximately 90km
AT-Turbah Tor AL-Baha Road Project (Yemen) Ministry of Public Works and Urban Development September, 2002 July, 2005 Completed Project Scope : Construction of 8.8 km road.

The project was the Rural Access Program (RAP) Road No. 4 of the Ministry of Public Works and Urban Development with a total of 8.8 km and was awarded to HAWK INTERNATIONAL as an independent Yemeni Contractor.

The works consisted of the removal and disposal of buildings, fences, structures, abandoned pipelines, and other obstructions. It also includes the salvaging of designated materials and backfilling the resulting trenches holes and pits.

The work also consisted of the realignment of existing functional utilities, fences, etc..
Construction of Sayhut - Nishtun Road Project (Yemen) Ministry of Public Works and Urban Development August, 2002 January, 2006 Completed Project Scope : Construction of 176 km. Road Work including four (4) tunnels.

The works comprised the construction of approximately 176 kms of roadworks including four tunnels by total length of 3,150 meters in length. The largest tunnel is 1,519 meters in length through Jabal Fartak area. The second large tunnel is 904 meter and the other tow is of approximant 365 meter each. The works also included a link road to Khaysit Village.

The proposed roadway between the towns of Sayhut and Nishtun (including Khaysit link) consists of a 7.5 meter wide pavement with 2.5 meter unpaved shoulders on each side. It passes through the main villages of Qishin and Haswayn.

The work also involved establishing new routes comprising hill and side cutting of mountainous terrain using rock explosives and huge excavator, construction of RC retaining walls, Irish Crossings, RC box and pipe culverts. The road was appropriately protected and the necessary road furniture installed and applied.
Sana'a International Airport Development Project - Phase I (Yemen) Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority June, 2002 September, 2004 Completed Project Scope : Strengthening of Existing Asphalt Pavements and Extension of Runway and Parallel Taxiway In October 2002.

This project was awarded by the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority to HAWK INTERNATIONAL in a Joint Venture with Eko, a company based in Turkey.

Civil works for this project comprised extension of runway 18 northward, by 250 metres, to obtain a total runway length of 3500 m, such a length being required for BOEING 747 operation in the City of Sana'a.

Another part of the scope was the extension of the parallel taxiway and construction of a new link at the end of the runway.

Electrical works consisted mainly of the extension or the relocation of the lighting system for approach lights, threshold and runway end limits, edge light and the temporary lights, relocation of ILS equipment, Vortac, Middle Marker and Glide Path.
24" Main Oil Line Construction Contract (Yemen) Canadian Nexen Petroleum Yemen December, 2001 June, 2002 Completed Project Scope : Construction, Pipelines, Wellhead, Tie-Ins, Welding, Civil Construction.

Canadian Nexen (CanOxy) awarded HAWK INTERNATIONAL to construct 24" O.D. x 0.381" W.T. Grade X70 bypass for Main Oil Line pipeline.

The general scope of work provided for the bypass installation, labour, equipment, tools, supervision, services and facilities required to complete construction and pre-commissioning of 24" bypass Main Oil Line.

Scope for this 24" pipeline included 8 km of rock blasting below grade, right of way construction, bending, hauling, stringing, welding, pre-heating/inter-pass, intelligent pigging and non-destructive testing.

There was also some procurement involvement specially blasting materials that needs to be transported and escorted plus full planning services, quality control and engineering work including site survey, routing and as-built documentation.
Corridor Road Rehabilitation Works Ministry of Transport (Djibouti) December, 2001 May, 2003 Completed Rehabilitation works for Djibouti Corridor Road - Lot 4 & 5 includes construction of Irish crossings and box culverts and other drainage and protection works for a length of 82km
Canadian Nexen 20 MW Power Plant Expansion (Yemen) MAN B&W May, 2001 January, 2002 Completed Project Scope : Construction.

Work Disciplines : Civil, Building and Structural with options for Mechanical and Electrical.

This project was awarded to HAWK INTERNATIONAL by MAN B&W, Canada, who are responsible for the supply and installation of 2 units of 20MW Power Station each comprise of 6 nos. 16RK270s Diesel Generators.

The work involved the design, procurement and construction of all concrete foundations for the diesel generating units, the powerhouse building, cooler foundations, exhaust stack foundations, and all other required foundations for the complete operation of the powerhouse.

Additional responsibility consist of transporting the generators from a Yemen port to site, lifting them into place and carrying out mechanical and electrical work.

This project was successfully completed on time and HAWK INTERNATIONAL received a letter of recommendation from the clients Canadian Nexen and MAN B&W for achieving a total of 659,895 man-hours with no lost time accident during construction and commissioning phases of the two power plants.
Tasour Crude Oil Pipeline Project (Yemen) DNO ASA February, 2000 September, 2000 Completed Project Scope : Engineering, Procurement, Supply, Construction and Commissioning of 65 km. Crude Oil Pipeline.

The scope of work included engineering and preparation of drawings for each of the pipeline stretches including right of way, road crossings and jump-over. Also, survey drawings, alignment sheets, piping drawings and details, civil work and all other plans and documents required to complete the work. Transportation of 225,000 ft of 8-5/8" x 0.250 wt x 42 ERW bare pipe is also a part of this scope.

Procedures, qualification and testing require welding procedures to meet requirements of ANSI B 31.4 duly approved by a recognized certifying agency and ensures all welders are qualified to do the work. NDT of the pipeline was 100% visual inspection, min. 10% radiography, UT/MPI of all weld joints. At critical areas and at steep loops 100% NDT was carried out.
Rehabilitation of Hodeidah - Salif Road (Yemen) Ministry of Housing & Urban Planning May, 1999 May, 2001 Completed Project Scope : 65.5 km Road Work Rehabilitation.

In April 1999, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning of Yemen awarded the contract for the rehabilitation of the 67.5 km road connecting the port city of Hodeidah to the Oil Terminal at Salif.

The scope of the contract called for the rehabilitation of the existing coastal road. The contract involved earthworks, straightening the sharp curves, construction of concrete box culverts, construction of bed level wadi crossings, utility lines, widening the asphalt pavement, and upgrading the existing road to a double lane asphalt road. The pavement works included subgrade (40 cm), CABC (20 cm), stabilized base course (13 km), asphalt concrete wearing course (5 cm).
Masila Maintenance, Pipeline and Construction Contract (Yemen) Canadian Nexen Petroleum Yemen July, 1994 December, 2013 Completed Project Scope : Construction, Pipelines, Plant Maintenance, Wellhead Tie-Ins.

Canadian Nexen ( CanOxy ) awarded HAWK INTERNATIONAL a Pipeline Maintenance and Construction Contract for the installation of Oil Pipelines, flowlines, wellhead tie-ins, CPF Plant Maintenance and various Civil Construction Projects plus some facility construction.

The work involves wellhead tie-ins to new wells, welding and installation of new flowlines and pipelines, daily maintenance functions at the CPF (Central Processing facility), as well as some road construction and maintenance.
